Michelin Man

Day + 9 Health Score 49
I feel great, never felt better in my life. Sorry, I shouldn't use sarcasm here. In "The Princess Bride" they put the Dread Pirate Roberts on a machine that sucked 1 year of life out of his body.
This happened to me two weeks ago, only with this machine, they promise to give the life back to you when you need it most, that is when you are mostly dead. Of course, it takes time for it to work and it is not chocolate coated.
Today I feel very weak. I have a GI bleed (gut), and massive swelling. It takes all the effort and motivation I can muster just to get out of bed. I haven't eaten in days. But you needn't worry about me. I will get better. I am quite tenacious. I may be only half-way up the cliffs of insanity, but I have a clear view of the top.
This I know. I derive extreme comfort in the hundreds of gestures of support given to me and my family. But, above all, I could not survive this without Barbie. For she is the reason that I continue on this path, for Barbie, my Princess Bride.

Ah Kevin,

You have an amazing way of enduring to the end. No doubt that Princess Bride Barbie is "rolling" along in her responsibilities expressing her sentiments, "As You Wish..."

We are still following your amazing, somewhat voluntary, faith promoting miracle. Hang in there, we're all still praying for you COMPLETE and QUICK recovery.

By the way, I agree with you and the movie, "Princess Bride" that love truly can be the force that drives us to get better, be better, and ultimately live better.

Lots of love and prayers,
Linda Reichert

Kevin & Barbie, I have been following your journey and I am praying, cheering, & thinking (of) for you both. My dad has primary AL Amyloidosis with mostly heart involvement (not a heart transplant or SCT candidate).

Okay, now you're going to make me cry. The devotion you and Barbie have for one another sets a very high bar; thanks for the reminder. It's easy for me to forget how precious life/health/love/the ordinary is to the "every day". You are a fighter, you have so much to fight for and while you're going through this really challenging time, you have Leslie there as your guardian and you are getting better every day.
Lots of love to you.

Kevin,

The light is on at the end of the tunnel, it will get brighter and brighter as the days roll on.
May your mind, body and spirit be blessed with peace, strength and faith today and all your tomorrows.

Even if you cannot stand up physically, nothing can keep you from standing up on the inside.
Keep getting up in your heart, mind, and will.

In thought and prayer,
Tony
