Kevin Has A Heart!

Kevin just called and Stanford has a heart.  He is being transferred by ambulance as I write.  The surgery should take place in the next 5-12 hours.  That's all I know at this point.  We are thrilled and overwhelmed once again.  I will fly tomorrow night from San Diego right after the reception and be there by 8pm.  Kevin should be in recovery at that point.  We have been blessed beyond belief.

Thank you for all your prayers, love, support.

When my mom told me that uncle Kevin has a heart, I had to get on my knees and thank our Heavenly Father for this miracle and the many other miracles our family has experienced. Uncle Kevin, Aunt Barbie, and family...we love you!

Wow, what an emotional roller coaster ride you guys have been on. Things always work out the way they are suppose to. I'm so happy he has a heart so soon. You both are a wonderful example of faith.

Kevin and Barbie,
I am so overcome with tears, I can hardly write. Today is my birthday and my mother asked me what I want...I replied that it would be really cool if Kevin could get a heart. That would be the best birthday present ever!! I can hardly believe that it actually happened and on my birthday! I am so excited for you both and so tickled that I got my birthday wish too. Best of luck in your recovery. I have no doubt that my prayers will continue to be answered on your behalf.

Lots of love and prayers,
Linda Reichert

Dear Barbie: This is Debbie Douglas. I met Kevin at the heart transplant support group on Tuesday. I myself am waiting for the decision from Dr. Edwards on my possiblity to be a heart transplant candidate. I too have amyloidosis. I am so happy for Kevin and wish him well. Keep all of us informed on his recovery. This gave me such hope that soon in the future I will have a new heart and be on the road to treating this rare disease. I'm still waiting each day to hear the news and its very hard! Kevin kept saying to be patient and he was right. This is a happy day for your family and God bless you all!
Please keep the messages coming.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Sincerely,
Debbie Douglas
